Rodolphe Parente is a graduate (with honours) of the École Nationale des Beaux Arts of Dijon, and of the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs of Strasbourg, where he studied Interior Architecture. He holds a degree in Industrial and Product Design (with honours) from ECAL (École Cantonale des Arts de Lausanne). During his studies, Rodolphe completed several industry placements in architecture firms and design agencies: Architectures Amiot-Lombard, Arik Levy, Jean Nouvel, Stephen Burks.

From an early stage in his career, Rodolphe began developing his own work, creating original designs which were later produced by Italian firm Zeritalia. Additionally, he worked in partnership with fellow architects on projects such as the sun deck of Paris' floating swimming pool, the renovation of private residences, and the development of scenography for the Eurockéennes festival in Belfort. He has received a prize from the Ministry of Culture in recognition of his achievements.

Rodolphe's work is sensitive to the imprint of tradition, attention to detail and to the understatement present in the work of his influences Jean-Michel Franck, Charlotte Perriand along with Gio Ponti and Peter Zumthor. He draws inspiration from the work of these, his heroes of design, as well as from everyday life. His creative work is continually informed by the symbiotic relationship between materials and human sensibility.

In 2005, Rodolphe began working with the Andrée Putman agency in Paris, for which he produced numerous interior architecture projects; furniture, such as the Morgans chair for Emeco, the Vertigo porcelain collection for Christofle , a collection of travel cases and desks for Poltrona Frau, the redecoration of the Morgans Hotel in New York, and the Bisazza stand at the Milan Furniture Fair. Then, he was appointed art director at the retail and design studio, Malherbe design.

Rodolphe's current work for his independent studio brings together the aesthetic and the functional, within a context of scrupulous attention to detail and finish. His work speaks of discrete understated beauty, without empty embellishment or adornment, and is intrinsically utilitarian, hence Rodolphe’s artistic process is centred around the user, and seeks openness in terms of the materials used and the emotion evoked.

Rodolphe Parente a suivi un cursus d’architecture intérieure à l’École Nationale des Beaux Arts de Dijon (félicitations du jury) puis à l’École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg. Il est aussi diplômé en design industriel « produit » de l’ECAL (École Cantonale des Arts de Lausanne) avec mention très bien. En parallèle de ses études, il réalise plusieurs immersions dans des agences d’architecture et de design (Architectures Amiot-Lombard, Arik Levy, Jean Nouvel, Stephen Burks).

Très vite, il décide de développer son écriture personnelle. Il réalise des projets de design et voit son travail édité par la maison italienne Zeritalia. Il participe à des projets d’architecture en partenariat avec d’autres architectes (le solarium de la piscine flottante de Paris), réhabilite et réaménage des résidences privées et met au point une scénographie pour les Eurockéennes de Belfort. Au même moment, il remporte une bourse du Ministère de la Culture qui consacre déjà son jeune parcours. Sensible à l’empreinte de la tradition, au souci du détail ou à l’écriture « silencieuse » qu’il retrouve chez Jean-Michel Franck, Charlotte Perriand ou encore Gio Ponti et Peter Zumthor, il puise chez ses « maîtres » comme dans le quotidien, ce qui va en permanence inspirer son travail de création : un mélange intime de matières et de sensibilités. À partir de 2005, il collabore au sein de l’agence Andrée Putman à Paris et participe à la création de nombreux projets de design et d’architecture intérieure allant du mobilier, comme la chaise Morgans pour Emeco, la collection de porcelaine Vertigo Christofle ou la collection de malles et de bureaux pour Poltrona Frau, au réaménagement de l’hôtel Morgans à New York ou encore à la scénographie du stand Bisazza au Salon du Meuble de Milan. Par la suite, il est nommé à la direction artistique de l'agence de design et d'architecture commerciale Malherbe Retail.

Aujourd’hui, Rodolphe Parente développe son propre studio pour une réflexion qui allie le confort visuel à la fonction, avec toujours à l’esprit le sens du détail. Pour donner un ton juste à son travail, qui ne cherche pas l’effet pour l’effet, mais simplement une forme de beauté discrète, dans un quotidien où l’on s’approprie son travail, Rodolphe Parente place l’utilisateur au centre de sa démarche artistique qu’il veut ouverte aux matières et à l’émotion.
