Career path

Rodolphe Parente founded his studio in Paris in 2009 after having worked for several years alongside Andrée Putman. This experience allows him to handle interior architecture as well as design; a global vision of space that he learns to master during his studies at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Dijon, then at the Ecole supérieure des arts décoratifs in Strasbourg and at the ECAL, the School of Art and Design in Lausanne.

Rodolphe Parente keeps within his studio this will of heterogeneity and the assets of his double cursus. With his team, he designs projects of various scales and destinations: residential, hotels, restaurants, sports clubs, castles, offices, banks, boutiques, furniture and accessories.

Influences and destinations

Rodolphe Parente’s aesthetic affinities and influences include the innovative spirit of the 1930s, the glamour of the 1970s and the radicalism of the 1980s. These strong movements have forged his taste and his free spirit. Ingenuity, sensitivity to craftsmanship, expressiveness of materials, a certain fantasy and openness to contemporary uses are thus distilled and sublimated in his projects. All of them testify to this desire for imagination, contrast and accuracy, for modernity that is constantly reinvented. His creations advocate a luxury tinged with lightness, advocate curiosity and honor art. The comfort and the harmony of a place pass by the luminosity, the development of singular textures, the games of studied volumes, architectural colors which will reveal a room. Rodolphe Parente is also fond of crossings and unexpected details, tributes that are both shifted and suggested.

Each new project involves the search for the right tone and legitimate choices. This desire for narration is always the result of a sensitive reflection for the benefit of the recipient. It is not a question of applying a recipe nor of being demonstrative but of creating places to measure, adequate. The realizations signed Rodolphe Parente do not look like each other, he strives to propose each time a new writing. His approach can be radical, sophisticated, hybrid or enveloping. For each of his projects, the will of Rodolphe Parente is to accompany, to initiate, to inscribe itself in a context, to arouse curiosity in order to realize naturally incarnated and alive places.

The year 2022

In the summer of 2022, Rodolphe Parente was President of the Jury and guest of honor of the Design Parade Toulon, 6th international festival of interior design. On this occasion, he presented the exhibition “Contre-soirée” in the Ancien Évêché. To honor this carte blanche, Rodolphe Parente delivered a festive message, an ode to generosity and sharing, through games of light, textures, rhythms and assemblies that he loves to master.

In 2022, Rodolphe Parente also presented his first collection of furniture Apertura in self-edition. Composed of wooden armchairs thought as microarchitectures, organic coffee tables in birch and leather, lights in rubber or textured lacquered wood, this first collection aims to shift the fields of application of a material through a new prism.
